The Re-Return

Hello, all my 3 dear readers. Here's an UPDATE!


I failed at NaNoWriMo for personal reasons. With the exception of a stomach virus that took me out for a day, the holidays were awesome. My lovely fiancee Lauren and I got to spend a couple of days with our families up in the Florida panhandle. It was an absolute joy to see my sisters, mom, and dad - I love them all so so much.

Also Lauren bought me a Bamboo Pen for christmas, so expect my art output to increase a billion times over. I've only had the pen for a few hours now, but I've already become pretty accustomed to it and I am super stoked to experiment with it. I even made a brand spankin' new deviantart profile.

I pulled something in my back or pinched a nerve from puking so hard on xmas, and thus I am currently a little loopy on pain meds and done with this post.

Tis The Season

It's Nanowrimo time again! Expect many updates with word counts, really terrible first draft samples, and many frustrations starting tomorrow. I'm retooling a couple of ideas into one for my book this year, with the intention of eventually turning two ideas into a trilogy of epic proportions (we'll see how well that works out). This concept was pretty last minute, so I'm still a bit behind figuring out exactly how several elements are going to play, but hey, I've got until tomorrow.


Additionally, this year I'm using Liquid Story Binder XE, and so far it is awesome. It's the first "novelist" software I've found that I've liked, so I'm pretty happy about it, and recommend anyone looking to write anything check it out.

A Couple Of Things

I haven't drawn anything yet this week! Boo on me. I will remedy this tomorrow with vigor.

I would however like to share some things! Sharing is caring.

I have been absolutely devouring the manga series Bakuman.


The book is written by the same mysterious Tsugumi Ohba of Death Note fame. The writing is just amazing, and balances all the elements of a story I wouldn't be interested in otherwise incredibly well. The book is about two 9th graders who want to become famous manga creators, which sounds pretty boring - but it is executed by someone with a clear mastery of storytelling. It's the bomb, is my point.
